My Perfect Hen Weekend In Brighton With Lagoon Watersports
My Perfect Hen Weekend In Brighton With Lagoon Watersports
My hen do was booked for July 2015, myself and five of my best friends packed our cases and headed on an early train from Penzance to Brighton, with our champagne breakfast on board.
We arrived late Friday afternoon at Brighton train station and got a taxi to our fantastic accommodation at Black Lion Lane, the Smugglers retreat booked through Crown Gardens letting agency who where brilliant to deal with, provided us with everything they said they would and plenty of information.
As soon as we settled in the adventure began as we dashed off in a taxi the 3 miles to Brighton Marina for the surprise yacht trip. I had no idea what was in store for me on my much anticipated hen do, I did not even get the hint when my sash was handed to me by one of the girls with an anchor on the detail, that we would be sailing! How silly of me.
I have to say the absolute highlight of my hen do was the amazing surprise that my chief bridesmaid had organised – a 2 hour long boat trip out of Brighton marina, on a luxury Beneteau yacht. This yacht looked like something you imagine superstars to be on cruising around Ibiza bay, my heart stopped, I had no idea, it was a truly spectacular moment a) that it had been kept a surprise from me even with the most obvious of hints and my more than merry hens on the train b) that I was given this gift which was so thoughtful and so much fun!
When organising my hen do, my chief bridesmaid had remembered how I had said ‘if we get to Ibiza’ please can we do a boat cruise. Believe me on this day we did not need to be in the Balearic Islands, we had perfect luck, perfect weather and perfect partying conditions!
We spent the next two hours chilling out, laughing, joking, drinking champagne and soaking up the Brighton vibe, it was the warm up to our night out ahead. It was the HIGHLIGHT of our whole trip, having been made to feel so special, welcome and relaxed by the crew .
After our boat cruise we headed to Jimmy’s for dinner where the party continued and we sipped on cocktails and carried on the excitement of the day, finally ending up at the night club Shoosh where we partied the night away.
We woke up on the Saturday morning feeling very fragile. We were a bit too hung over for the activities we planned for Saturday so we headed to the beach for a lovely relaxing time by the sea. Recharged our batteries before heading for a massive night out.
Sunday morning started a bit like Saturday with all of us in a bit of a state but a hearty breakfast in the North Laines got us going before we headed for the station and back to Cornwall.
My advice is get to Brighton, who needs Ibiza, everything you need for a hen do is on your door step. I have to thank the staff and owners of this beautiful boat which gave me the perfect send off with my friends on a day I will never forget . THANK YOU
